Darcie was nice and cozy in her mama's little cocoon and had to be coaxed to come out and play!  At 10 pounds it was definitely time for her to be born!   Darcie's mom brought her in for her session and was able to take a little nap while I photographed her sweet girl.  I was really happy to see her put such trust in me ... or maybe she was just exhausted! ... whatever the reason, I was thrilled to get to catch this very short, very special time in her life.  Darcie's grammy owns one of my favorite stores, Rain Lilies, right here in Van Alstyne.  You might catch her at the Farmer's Market in McKinney on Saturdays, too.  She makes soaps from the milk from her own goats and adds some of the most wonderful scents.  So you can imagine that little Darcy will always smell wonderful and have beautiful skin :)

Here are a few of my favorite images from her session.  Scroll down for a video with more of her newborn portraits.
