Thank you for visiting!

Photography has always been an important part of my life.  I'm blessed to have a father that captured beautiful photographs of our family and the special events in our lives.  I loved to watch him turn pieces of photographic paper into memories in our kitchen-turned-darkroom. He instilled a love for photography in my soul, and on my 8th birthday my parents gave me what I had asked for...a Kodak Instamatic camera.  From that time on, I began to document my life and the lives of the people I love.  Photography was a hobby for me for many years.  But it was more than just a hobby.  The photographs that were taken during those years connect me to people and places I love.  There is one day that stands out to me.  It was a very busy season of life, so busy that the camera had been put aside for a few weeks.  I had three children under the age of 5, and the youngest was 4 months old.  She had been sick but it had been difficult to find a diagnosis.  That day we received the definitive diagnosis and learned she would need open heart surgery.  One of my thoughts that afternoon was that I didn't have very many pictures of my sweet baby...that I had been so busy with day to day life that I had very few photographs of her.  I took my camera out that afternoon and took several snapshots.  Fortunately, I have been able to photograph her many more times throughout her life...learning to walk, the first day of kindergarten, her first dance, her graduation from high school and shopping for wedding dresses.

I knew the basics of photography, but I always wanted to know more.  So, in 2004 I went back to college to hone my skills and really dig into the science and art of photography.  There is always more to learn, so I have also become a member of the Professional Photographers of America ( and am currently a candidate for a certification as a Certified Professional Photographer, having passed the CPP examination, and am now finishing up the requirements for certification.
